manmade surface, textures woodgrain
Woodgrain is the textures seen on the cut surface of wood. When wood is cut across the grain a series of concentric circles or ovals is seen formed by the alternating summer and winter growth of the tree from which the wood was cut. When wood is cut along the grain a series of wavy lines and patterns is formed where the growth rings of the tree are cut.
